I would describe my hair product history as being something akin to Henry VIII's marriages - notoriously fickle, "divorcing" many for claims of results that seemed to be missing from what I was using. I (still) have a cabinet full of half to mostly-finished products I tried, didn't like, or was distracted from mid-way through usage. I would have made a fantastic beauty blogger back in those days.
These days, I've been happily married to for over a year (a hideously long time for my product-fickle self) to Theraneem shampoos and Ted Gibson's Individual Color Captivating Copper conditioner.
Theraneem shampoos are Paraben, Sulfate and Gluten-free with calming ingredients; my hair and scalp are in better shape now then they have been for years. During winter, the Moisture shampoo compensates for exposure to drying air in heated buildings, and in the summer, I use a lighter formulation like the Volumizing Therape. Although a little off-putting at first due to the liquidy texture and lack of lather, it yields healthy, un-weighed-down hair and a healthy scalp.
After trial and error with Aveda's Madder Root conditioner (too blue-red), and various semi-permanent box dyes to top up rapidly fading color (never deposited enough or lasted longer than a shampoo or two), I heard about Ted Gibson's conditioner through an acquaintance. Godsend. The red-gold tones of this conditioner are perfect for copper-dyed hair.
If any fellow redheads out there have other products you use, please share, I'm always willing to try new things!
